Sara Swanson

Hi! I’m Sara, a San Diego based artist that loves painting and spending time with my husband, two adventurous boys, and our rescue dog, Mia. I express my love for nature through free flowing watercolor paintings that I love making into surface pattern designs!
From splatter painting my bedroom walls as a child to working as a graphic designer for 10 years, creativity has always been part of my life. I enjoyed art classes in high school and then went on to receive a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree in college. 
Growing up in a small town in Nebraska, I spent a lot of time in nature. Now living in San Diego, I have such a love for the beaches and the inspiring Pacific coast. Painting is my first love for creative expression and is a calming process for me. I truly enjoy every brush stroke and believe colors in art and design can brighten our moods and enrich our lives. Whether it’s hiking our canyon trails or going to the beach, connecting with nature brings me joy and inspires my art and surface pattern designs in so many ways. I hope my designs inspire you and can bring some nature, beauty, and joy to your life too!
